Data Analysis
Throughout my career I have completed I range of projects using both spatial analysis and statistical analysis. These projects have provided me with a thorough understanding of statistics while becoming proficient in a variety of software packages. These packages include Microsoft Excel, R, Python Statistical packages (Pandas, Numpy, Scipy). These skills have been displayed in the following projects:
- NC Thesis - Water Balance in the Holland Marsh. This project utilized python and R to calculate the water balance within the Holland Marsh using multiple regression techniques. Once these regression models were developed in R, they were used as the input in python to develop rasters, calculating the water balance using temperature, elevation, latitude longitude, solar radiation, and precipitation as input variables.
- Dengue Fever - Analysis of the Dengue Fever over a 6 week study period. This project used Python packages such as Pandas and Numpy to develop statistical models along with the use of geospatial techniques to derive spatial patterns that developed over the study period.
- 911 Call Data - Using a variety of statistical methods, these projects looked at a both the temporal and spatial patterns of 911 data. Using regression models to help understand and predict such 911 call events for planning needs to calculating area's that are more prone to vehicle thefts and at which times these occur would be beneficial in the both the number of officers dispatched and to what locations. (911 Call Data, Vehicle crime analysis)
